For a first-timer in Staten Island, NY it was a blast! My friend Jillian decided she wouldn’t take me around New York city to the “touristy” places, so we got to spend some time in Staten Island and did end up going into Manhattan while I was there.
We first went to Royal Crown. I have to think about the name of this place consciously because I keep wanting to call it Crown Royal. Because why wouldn’t I?
This is Jillian. Her signature face. Don’t kill me for posting this!! :-p
I was overwhelmed by the sandwiches and the meats, and the cheeses, and the types of bread, and the vinegar. THE BALSAMIC VINEGAR. I need some of this RIGHT NOW. The vinegar is amazing and they also sell it. I went with a hard roll with (omg I can’t remember the meat I had!) and cheese. This was DELICIOUS!!
Look at it!!
When going to Italian bakery, you can’t get away with not ordering a cannoli. We ordered a chocolate one and this certainly didn’t let me down. I wish they could just ship this entire meal to me in Atlanta right now!
We went to the local mall and to my surprise there was a CVS in the mall. Nothing particularly special about this, it’s just that we don’t see many of these in the malls back home.
I tried on a hat at H&M. Confused how I feel about it..
Eh? Eh?
I see a lot of love when I’m around the city. Back home I feel like you really have to go downtown to get souvenirs.
Night one we honestly didn’t feed too many people, and I was overwhelmed by all of the Chinese food! Funny how Chinese food can taste different depending where you are!
Hmm, thanks fortune cookie!
I made Jillian take my picture with her Polaroid.
Shake it like a polaroid picture!!
I had to squat down because I am a GIANT next to this girl.
Again, more NY love! This was at another deli. With amazing bagels.
I had a hard time narrowing it down to what I wanted to try. I went with a cream cheese bagel with lox.
I think this is the most amazing smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel I’ve ever had.
I never realized how much I loved iced coffee until my trip here. So good!!!!
Selfie time!
We took the ferry to get into the city. For whatever reason, this ferry was not how I imagined, and it’s so much bigger than I had imagined!
We have a subway system back home but nothing compared to this bad boy!
Once we were in Manhattan we met some of Jillian’s friends. Our first stop was Coffee Shop and we got some Sangrias.
I didn’t understand this..
Headless Horseman!
We stopped by Dos Caminos for some margaritas!
This was a super-strong and DELICIOUS margarita!! 😀
Oh, by the way Jillian’s mother has turned me into a gambling addict. I bought a few to start with and I won $5! I used the $5 to get another ticket, but unfortunately I didn’t win again. Two days later I really wanted to try my luck of buying a lottery ticket on vacation and be super happy to win a few hundred dollars! I had it all made up in my head that I was going to win. I did not. Womp.
Lasagna time!
This is Farrah. She is a human. Say “hello” Farrah!!
We went to another restaurant/bakery and had some amazing gelato! And cannolis! Wasn’t a bad choice at all!!
Pretty Fall trees!
